Academics

Specialised teams for every stage.

Our four academic departments are organised around the developmental needs of each grade range — from the curiosity of kindergarten to the academic rigour of junior high school.

Our Academic Structure

Four departments, one journey.

UPS organises its academic programme into four departments — each tailored to the developmental needs and learning styles of its grade range.

01

Kindergarten

KG1 & KG2

Where curiosity begins. Our youngest learners discover the joy of school through play-based learning, foundational language development, and the building blocks of social and emotional growth.

02

Primary

Grades 1–3

The years that lay the academic foundation. Students develop literacy, numeracy, and inquiry skills while learning the routines and discipline of structured education.

03

Intermediate

Grades 4–6

The bridge years. Students deepen their academic foundation while developing independence, critical thinking, and the study skills that prepare them for higher grades.

04

Junior High School

Grades 7–10

The years of preparation for what comes next. Specialised subject teachers, more advanced coursework, and the development of identity, leadership, and academic discipline.

Why department-based

Tailored teaching at every stage.

Each department has its own dedicated team of educators trained to meet students where they are — academically, socially, and emotionally.

1

Specialised Educators

Each department's teachers understand the unique developmental stage of their students — and design lessons around it.

2

Age-Appropriate Pedagogy

Play-based learning for our youngest, inquiry-driven study for primary, and structured rigour as students approach high school.

3

Smooth Transitions

Our department structure ensures students aren't suddenly thrown into new learning styles — each year prepares them for the next.
